As you might remember, I wrote a post some month ago called With a Little Help from my Friends. This weekend, I have had help from my colleagues at Stenløse Gymnasium. And this post is dedicated to their help - without it, I wouldn't have grounds to my claim that something is rotten in the state of non-fiction prose.
As I was lying in bed, feeling very sorry for myself, my colleagues were discussing how and why they use non-fiction. Oh, don't worry, they didn't spend their weekend being teacher-ish only on my account; they were meeting anyway, and I got to be the first topic on the agenda! (I think they figured this was the only way to stop my spamming them... Sorry, guys - but it worked, didn't it?!)
Thank you, English teachers at Stenløse!
This brings me to another, yet closely related topic. I have five classes left with my students. 5! I'm sad to leave them, the school and my colleagues. But glad that I'm sad. I mean, it's a pretty good indication that I have chosen the right profession, isn't it?
