... Obama!

I'm sitting at my desk, blinded by the sunshine, finding an Obama speech for my book. Awed by this man's ability to coin a phrase, to use an anaphora without doing it too obviously, to look damn hot and yet to keep a politician's persona, I find myself drooling over his rhetorical skills.

(Today I'm writing in English. I've been reading Wolfe again, so I feel like rejoycing the language.)

it, but Having rhetorical skills is like being in love. If you're the spectator, it's difficult to explain how you can recognisewhen you see someone with rhetorical skills, you know it straight away. The whole placeoozes quality. And if you're the lucky one, it can be difficult to explain how you got there. In the beginning, it felt right to be standing in front of a crowd until one day, you suddenly realise this is something you feel like doing for the rest of your life.

So go check out the speech I'm going to use in my book:

Obama's announcment for president.

It simply beautiful.

(And the pun? Forget it, it's just a stupid margarine ad that - God knows why - popped into my mind.)

Jovisst ska jag skriva mer på engelska, Peter! Härligt att du läser min blog!

And man, am I tired of spam-comments. Couldn't they at least write real English when spamming an English teacher? Even my students would laugh at 'if possible gives a last there on my blog'. I don't even know what that's supposed to mean...
